The south of Aberdeenshire (broadly south of the River Don) includes Aberdeenshire best known visitor locations – Braemar, Balmoral, Ballater on Royal Deeside and Stonehaven and it spectacular castle on the coast. For a cyclist this are offers lots of gentle riding in the Dee valley and the Mearns, more rolling hills over to Donside and moster climbs like the Cairn O’Mount and the Cairnwell to Glenshee Ski Station on the UK’s highest road.
