RtN 2018 Event Information
Ride the North 2018 will take place on 25-26 August. The participant information pack can be viewed on-line here RTN 2018 Event Info DIGITAL (if you want to print this version is better RTN 2018 Event Info PRINTABLE) If this doesn’t answer your questions, drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. After 21 Aug, the event team are out on route, so call if you have any urgent enquiry.
The Event Route
As late changes or uncertainty about roadworks/road conditions are not unknown, the route is published with a health warning that further amendments are not ruled out! If you wish to download for navigation, we will highlight updates (and date of update) on the page below. For avoidance of doubt, the route will be clearly signposted throughout. As of 2 August the planned routes are posted at https://www.plotaroute.com/routecollection/683 from where you can download for use by GPS. NOTE – There are 4 routes and you will follow Oldmeldrum-Forres-Oldmeldrum OR Castle Fraser-Forres-Castle Fraser. There route is 90% the same, but those who start in Oldmeldrum will join the those who start at Castle Fraser on the route rather than having to divert into the castle. Likewise, those who begin at Castle Fraser will turn off for Elgin before reaching Forres. The routes presented mean each day is very close to 85 miles and the distance is the same regardless of which option you choose.
The event registration pack will go into the mail between 7-10 August. This will contain the items that you are required to bring on the day – numbers, route passport for stamps along the way, luggage tag etc. If you did not already collect the RtN 2018 event jersey, this will be included in the same mailing. If it doesn’t fit, there will be a social media post to see if that helps with direct swaps, alternatively there will be a check-in desk at both Oldmeldrum and at Castle Fraser that will have spares and will offer exchanges.
